2026 Chainsaw Certification Training
Description
ORA Trails is excited to host a full-day Chainsaw Certification Training designed to equip volunteers, trail stewards, and community members with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to safely operate a chainsaw in outdoor and trail environments.
This training supports ORA’s commitment to building a strong culture of safety, stewardship, and volunteer empowerment. By increasing access to professional safety education, we can expand community capacity to assist with trail maintenance, storm cleanup, habitat work, and stewardship projects throughout the region.
The first half of the day will focus on classroom instruction covering chainsaw safety principles, personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard awareness, saw maintenance, cutting techniques, and risk management. The second half of the training will move into the field for hands-on practice and applied instruction under the guidance of Jim with Chainsaw Safety Specialists.
Whether you are new to chainsaw operation or looking to strengthen your existing skills, this training provides valuable education in a supportive and safety-focused environment. Participants will leave with increased confidence, practical experience, and a stronger understanding of responsible chainsaw use in stewardship and volunteer settings.
